A graduate of Bachelor’s (first-cycle) studies in Chemistry is expected to have a good knowledge of basic branches of chemistry such as inorganic, organic, physical and analytical chemistry, has a fundamental knowledge of mathematics and physics as well as the appropriate knowledge of subjects related to the given speciality (profile of studies) chosen.

A graduated in chemistry can be employed in institutions dealing in the chemical industry, food industry, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics industry, textile industry and in agricultural industry. The graduates with preparation for laboratory work can be employed in a variety of research and industrial laboratories.

The graduate bachelor of science is also prepared to continue the education with a two-year programme of Master's studies. There are 3 specialisations available and the implementation is launched from the third semester.

  • Chemical analytics
  • Chemistry of cosmetics and medicines
  • Chemistry on new materials

A graduate in Chemical analytics specialisation can be employed in chemical laboratories, as well as medical, pharmaceutical, scientific-research institutions and in laboratories specific for the uniformed services such as judicial analysis laboratory, forensic laboratory or customs laboratory.

A graduate in Chemistry of cosmetics and medicines specialisation will be prepared to take up work in the company associated with cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, cosmetic enterprise, quality control and marketing efforts, cosmetic distribution networks (as a vendor, consultant and client advisor) and in enterprises associated with the production, analysis, quality control and distribution of pharmaceuticals.

A graduate in Chemistry of new materials specialisation will havea knowledge of the issue on the technology of synthesizing, processing and recycling of materials, methods of designing the crystal structure of requested properties and structural research, as well as methods of synthesizing of composites. As a result, the graduate will be prepared to take up work supporting material and technological design in industry or enterprises and industrial research facilities. The graduate will acquire the ability to handle the specialized apparatus used to study the properties of new materials. The graduate can also be employed in companies engaged in the production and marketing of new materials and the apparatus used for investigating them.
